A number of watercolor and ink paintings from Chinese artist Song Yuelin are on display at the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC) as part of an exhibition reviewing the artist's East-meets-West art career.

NAMOC's When Watercolor Encounters Chinese Ink exhibition offers audiences a chance to learn about Song's approach to art from his early realistic paintings to the new attempts to add Chinese ink painting elements to watercolor paintings.

Additionally, Song chose to use British painting techniques to depict landscapes such as his hometown in Lushan Mountain, East China's Jiangxi Province and figure portraits.

According to the artist, the exhibition aims to pay tribute to the people and scenery in the town where he was raised.
