Ice Bucket Challenge, Donations for ALS research, Lou Gehrig’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis disease
Ice Bucket Challenge brought awareness acroos the people of world regarding A.L.S disease which is known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s disease.
More than 30000 people in America have A.L.S disease, which attacks nerve cells and ultimately leads to total paralysis, though the mind remains sharp. Infected human life period may be two to five years from the time of diagnosis. The exact reason for this disease is not known and till now there is no cure or treatment that stops or reverses the disease. According to the A.L.S. Association, One Food & Drug Administration-approved drug slows its progression, and other drugs are in clinical trials.
ALS organization working on to find out the causes and cure of this disease. All famous persons taking ice bucket challenge to raise the donations to the A.L.S. Association, to find out cure and treatments for the disease.
USA former President George W. Bush to Justin Bieber and Shakira posting online videos of themselves dumping buckets of ice over their heads taking ice bucket bath in the name of charity.
Donations have grown rapidly as a wave of politicians, sports stars, actors, musicians, chief executives and celebrities joined in the challenge in recent days. Till now “Ice Bucket Challenge” raised more than $40 million in support of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
